PDS is authored in Figma, in three libraries. Access to them comes with access to the Persona Figma organization, so that is the first thing to sort out: until you are in the organization, none of the libraries will appear in a file.
Get into the Persona Figma organization
Section titled “Get into the Persona Figma organization”If you work at Persona, request a Figma license through the internal go/access page. Approval puts you in the organization, where all three libraries are already shared — there is nothing to request library by library.
If you are an external partner, work from Persona’s Figma community profile.
Enable the libraries in your file
Section titled “Enable the libraries in your file”The three libraries, and what each one holds:
- PDS Primitives holds the tokens: color, typography, spacing, elevation and border radius.
- PDS Components holds the components documented on this site. A component page links its own frame in this file where it has one.
- Icon & Asset Kit holds the icons and brand assets. Icons and Logos cover how to use them.
Turn on all three. A component is built from the primitives, and several components include an icon from the kit, so a file with only PDS Components enabled is missing what the components are made of.
A library is enabled per file, so a new file starts with none of them. Figma’s help center has the steps:
add or remove a library from a design file.
